Xp_smtp

This extended stored procedure adds the xp_smtp functionality to SQL Server. This procedure runs an SMTP server (or relay)

Hi I am currently doing some tests on sending emails from SQL Server but there seems to be an issue.
I have connected to a server (remote) that I know will allow SMTP. When I test a simple ‘Hello’ command to this SMTP server, I get a’smtp is unavailable’. This is a standard host I have connected to and tested with many other tools.
The xp_smtp that I am referencing is located in [SqlServer]\MSSQL$InstanceName\MSSQL$InstanceName\MSSQL\Binn. I have the compiled version of the DLL on this server.
I have verified the the service account I am using to run the instance of SQL Server is also set to be a db_owner on the table of the email table that the xp_smtp will run against.
I have done a lot of searching and cannot find anyone with a similar problem so any help is welcome.

Hello,
I am developing a ASP.NET MVC3 web application with DotNetNuke (5.1.6) in one of my project I am using a custom email handler that has a class that extend HttpPostedFileBase to prevent from invalid data posted.
I was having some issues with this method and after finding an article that has been helpful in fixing the issue I will be posting that on SO here.

I want to send email notification to the user’s which has been disabled in the User Account using the Server side code by disabling the attribute Disabled=true for that User Account.

Hi i have tested the code in this link
in that i have used the SqlMail functionality. i am getting a error like:

The parameter @from_name was not declared. Must declare the parameter
with a name.

What’s New In Xp_smtp?

Provides a set of programming interfaces for the Microsoft SMTP server. The two main functions are sp_sendmail and sp_addextendedproc.
sp_sendmail is used to send email. sp_addextendedproc is used to register the dll. sp_sendmail is passed a parameter that defines the subject line and the message body. sp_addextendedproc is passed a parameter that represents the dll name and some additional parameters to the dll.

sp_sendmail is used to send email messages to recipients. sp_sendmail is passed a parameter that represents the recipients. sp_sendmail is passed a parameter that represents the email message. sp_sendmail is executed on the MS SQL Server that is used to store data in the smtp format.
The sp_sendmail parameter is not required.
You can execute sp_sendmail without a parameter by using the following SQL command:
EXEC sp_sendmail

sp_addextendedproc is used to add the DLL to the SQL Server. sp_addextendedproc is passed parameters that represent the new extended stored procedure name, the dll name, the dll name, the dll type, a parameter, and the name of the extended stored procedure. sp_addextendedproc is executed on the server that is used to store data in the smtp format. sp_addextendedproc is executed to register the dll on the server.
The sp_addextendedproc parameter is not required.
You can execute sp_addextendedproc without a parameter by using the following SQL command:
